When the SM3 Slim Mechanical Backlit Bluetooth Keyboard is connected wirelessly, the backlight timeout cannot be changed. The power saving feature is built into the keyboard firmware.

In Bluetooth mode:

• The backlight turns off after 1 minute of inactivity.
• The keyboard enters sleep mode after 30 minutes of inactivity.

With the 2.4GHz USB receiver:

• The backlight turns off after 1 minute of inactivity.
• The keyboard enters sleep mode after 10 minutes of inactivity.

To keep the backlight on, use wired mode. In wired mode, the SM3 Slim Mechanical Backlit Bluetooth Keyboard does not enter sleep mode and the backlight stays on unless you turn it off. Press any key to wake the keyboard from sleep mode.
