• M1 and M2 base models: one external display.
• M3 base model: two external displays, but only in clamshell mode with the laptop lid closed.
• M1 Pro, Max, and Ultra; M2 Pro, Max, and Ultra; M3 Pro, Max, and Ultra; and M4, M4 Pro, and M4 Max: two external displays.
• M5 Pro: up to three external displays. M5 Max: up to four external displays, which may require daisy-chaining.
