How many external displays the Thunderbolt 5 CubeDock with SSD Enclosure can drive on a Mac depends on your Apple silicon chip. On Mac, each Thunderbolt 5 port supports up to 6K at 60Hz.
- M1 and M2 base models: one external display.
- M3 base model: two external displays, but only in clamshell mode with the laptop lid closed.
- M1 Pro, Max, and Ultra; M2 Pro, Max, and Ultra; M3 Pro, Max, and Ultra; and M4, M4 Pro, and M4 Max: two external displays.
- M5 Pro: up to three external displays. M5 Max: up to four external displays, which may require daisy-chaining.
macOS sets these limits based on the chip and its graphics, not the dock.
