If your iPhone is not charging on the OntheGo Qi2 2-in-1 Wireless Charger (ST-QTG21K, ST-QTG21W, ST-QTG21R), the cause is usually the power adapter, the case on your phone, or alignment on the pad. The OntheGo Qi2 2-in-1 Wireless Charger includes a USB-C cable but no power adapter, and it needs a USB-C power adapter rated at 30W or higher to charge properly.
How to fix charging problems on the OntheGo Qi2 2-in-1 Wireless Charger
- Unfold the OntheGo Qi2 2-in-1 Wireless Charger so the Qi2 phone pad and the Apple Watch module are both exposed.
- Plug the included USB-C cable into the USB-C port on the rear of the charger, then into a USB-C power adapter rated at 30W or higher. A power adapter is not included, and a single-port adapter gives the most reliable results.
- Do not power the charger from a laptop USB-C port. Laptop ports are not designed to deliver the steady power the OntheGo Qi2 2-in-1 Wireless Charger needs.
- Place your iPhone face-up and centered on the Qi2 pad. A magnetic click confirms correct alignment. If you do not feel that click, slide the phone until it snaps in.
- Remove thick or metal cases. Cases must be no thicker than 3 mm and free of any metal housing or plating, since metal blocks wireless charging.
- Check whether your phone has built-in magnets. iPhone 13 and later models with built-in MagSafe or Qi2 magnets attach directly. Older iPhones and most Android and other Qi devices need a magnetic case or a magnetic adapter ring so they align with the charging coil and hold in place.
- Try a different USB-C cable. A cable that does not carry power properly is the most common cause of charging that starts and stops.
- Try a different wall outlet.
- Place a different device on the pad to see whether the issue follows the charger or the phone.
- Keep credit cards, key fobs, and other magnet-sensitive items away from the charging surface while charging.
- If charging works but feels slow, check the adapter first. The iPhone side of the OntheGo Qi2 2-in-1 Wireless Charger delivers up to 15W and the Apple Watch side delivers up to 5W. Each side has a fixed speed, so charging only one device will not make that side faster, and a lower wattage adapter will charge at reduced speed.
