It’s normal for the 165W USB-C 4-Port PD GaN Charger to run warm — GaN chargers run warmer than traditional chargers, especially under heavy load. Here’s what’s normal and when to be concerned:
- GaN chargers naturally run warm under high load; this is expected up to a point.
- Give the charger room to breathe — don’t enclose it in a drawer or press it against fabric.
- Charging several devices at once raises the combined load and the heat.
- If the charger is too hot to hold comfortably, or you notice a burning smell or discoloration, stop using it immediately and submit a support request.
