The Problem

If pressing the number keys on your Satechi keypad moves the mouse cursor instead of typing numbers, or if the keys produce unexpected behavior, an accessibility setting on your computer is likely overriding normal keypad input.

Fix for macOS (Ventura, Sonoma, Sequoia, and newer)

The most common cause on Mac is the Mouse Keys accessibility feature, which repurposes number keys to control the cursor.

1. Open System Settings (click the Apple menu > System Settings).

2. Select Accessibility in the sidebar.

3. Click Pointer Control.

4. Make sure Mouse Keys is turned off.

5. Test your keypad. The number keys should now type normally.

Older macOS versions (Monterey and earlier)

1. Open System Settings.

2. Click Accessibility.

3. Select Mouse & Trackpad in the left sidebar.

4. Uncheck Enable Mouse Keys.

Fix for Windows 10 and 11

On Windows, the issue is usually that NumLock is off. Since the Satechi keypad does not have a dedicated NumLock key, you need to enable it through the on-screen keyboard.

1. Press the Windows key and search for "On-Screen Keyboard". Open it.

2. If you do not see a NumLock key on the on-screen keyboard, click Options and check "Turn on numeric key pad." Click OK.

3. Click the NumLock key on the on-screen keyboard to enable it.

4. Test your physical Satechi keypad. The number keys should now work correctly.

Alternatively, press the Clear button on the Satechi keypad (located below the "Cut" key area) to toggle NumLock.

Still Not Working?

If the steps above did not fix the issue:

1. Turn the keypad off and back on.

2. Forget the keypad from your Bluetooth settings and re-pair it.

3. Restart your computer.

4. Test the keypad in a different application (like Notes or TextEdit) to see if the issue is app-specific.
