If your external monitor is mirroring your Mac screen instead of giving you extra desktop space, you can switch it to extended mode.

1. Open System Settings, then Displays.
2. Select the external monitor.
3. Open the Use As drop-down and choose Extended Display.

Once set, the monitor will extend your desktop each time you connect it through the Thunderbolt 4 Multimedia Pro Dock, rather than mirroring.
