1. Use the drive for storage or Time Machine backups rather than as a bootable operating system, since the enclosure runs at up to 10 Gbps.
2. Avoid heavy, continuous read and write tasks.
3. Make sure the USB-C connection provides enough power, which matters most for a bus-powered hub.
4. Reformat the drive to APFS or ExFAT.
5. Remove the drive and reinstall it in the enclosure.
