When the Triple 4K Display Docking Station is powered by its adapter but not connected to your computer, all of its USB-C and USB-A ports still work.

Displays are the exception. To use the monitors, the dock must be connected to your computer with the DisplayLink software installed, and a direct HDMI to HDMI or DisplayPort to DisplayPort cable is required for each display.
