If transfers are slower than expected on your USB-C NVMe and SATA SSD Enclosure, try these steps:
- Use the included USB-C cable, or any USB-C cable rated USB 3.1 Gen 2 (10Gbps) or higher. The enclosure tops out at 10Gbps, so a Thunderbolt or USB4 cable won’t make it faster.
- Speed depends on the drive. NVMe SSDs run at up to 10Gbps and SATA SSDs at up to 6Gbps.
- Connect the enclosure directly to your computer, not through a hub or dock.
- On Mac, check System Information to confirm the connection speed.
- Benchmark with a single large file rather than many small files for an accurate reading.
- If speeds drop during long transfers, the drive may be slowing down to cool off. Make sure the included thermal pad is installed.
If the problem continues after these steps, submit a support request.
