What is the advantage of the Pro Hub rather than the Multi-Port Adapter?
A. Both the Pro Hub and Multi-Port are part of our Type-C collection and are geared towards MacBook users. However, the main feature of the Pro Hub is that it adds a Thunderbolt 3 port, for up to 40Gb/s data transfer, up to 5K video display capabilities and pass-through charging. The Pro Hub also adds another Type-C port, in addition to the Thunderbolt 3, to fulfill more data transfer needs. It also features the same ports as the Multi-Port Adapter's original ports, with the exception of the Ethernet.
The way these adapters connect to a MacBook differs on both models. The Pro Hub uses two-pronged Type-C connectors and fits flush to a Macbook Pro. The Multi-Port connects with a short wire to a Thunderbolt 3 port on Macbooks and Macbook Pros.
