What is the difference between the Thunderbolt 3 port and the Type-C port?
A: The Thunderbolt 3 port is, in fact, a Type-C port, however, it transfers data at a much faster rate at 40 Gb/s. A standard Type-C port will operate at 5 Gb/s.
