The Satechi DotDisk 80Gbps SSD Enclosure has a built-in fan for active cooling. Hearing or seeing the fan run is normal and means it is working as designed.

The fan and the aluminum body work together to manage heat during heavy use, such as large file transfers.

Keeping temperatures in check

• Keep the ventilation slots clear and unblocked.
• Avoid using the enclosure in tight, enclosed spaces.
• If the enclosure becomes uncomfortably hot to the touch, disconnect it and let it cool before resuming use.
