A 2230 NVMe (Non-Volatile Memory Express) solid state drive (SSD) used in the Satechi Mini NVMe SSD Enclosure must be formatted to either ExFAT or APFS.

• Choose ExFAT to use the drive across both Windows and Mac. ExFAT is also required before using the drive with an iPhone or iPad.
• Choose APFS for an Apple-only setup.

A brand new or uninitialized drive will not appear until you format it. Format it using Disk Utility on a Mac or Disk Management on Windows.
